Rahul Mitra explores the urbanization at the cost of natural habitat. Based on his recent travels and work in Hyderabad, India, his current show reflects his take on the global environmental damage, interwoven with his personal narratives of class, economic and social disparities. The paintings in the show are also influenced by his literary work of fiction, the Sons of Nakara and his Pushcart Prize nominated short stories. 

Rahul Mitra is an artist, writer, and a scientist. He has shown his work in 30 solo and 100 group shows in  contemporary art Museums, galleries, art spaces and art fairs in USA, India, France, Greece, Italy, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Peru, Mexico, Turkey, and Egypt. In addition to his studio practice, he is engaged in his creation, Box City – a collaborative project with marginalized communities in cities across the world.
